Personal training at Shin Kick is simply you and one of our coaches, with the floor to yourselves. There's no class to keep up with and no one watching. The whole session is built around you, your starting point and what you want to get out of it, which is why people improve so quickly this way.
It suits more people than you might think. Total beginners book it to learn the basics in private before they ever step into a class. People returning to fitness use it to rebuild gently, with a coach keeping an eye on form and effort. And experienced trainers and fighters use it to drill technique, fix specific habits and push harder than a group session allows.
You don't have to be a fighter, or fit, or experienced to book a session. You just have to want to start. We coach all levels and all ages, and every session meets you exactly where you are.

What a 1-to-1 session is really like
Your first session starts with a chat. Your coach will ask what you're hoping to achieve, whether that's fitness, weight loss, learning Muay Thai from scratch, or getting fight-ready, and check how you're feeling on the day. Nothing is assumed and nothing is rushed.
From there you'll warm up, then work through technique and pad or bag work pitched at your level. Because it's one-to-one, the coach can slow right down, explain things clearly and adjust on the spot if something isn't landing. There's no pressure to spar and no keeping up with a class. Wear comfy clothes and trainers and bring water; we can lend you gloves if you need them.
You'll leave knowing exactly what you worked on and what to focus on next. Many people pair a few one-to-one sessions with normal classes, so they build confidence in private and then enjoy training alongside everyone else.

Do I need any experience to book a session?
Not at all. Personal training is one of the best ways to start from scratch. Your coach takes you through everything from the basics, at your own pace, with no class to keep up with. We welcome all levels and all ages.
Can personal training help me get ready for a fight?
Yes. One-to-one sessions are ideal for focused, hard work on technique, conditioning and the specific things you need to sharpen. Our coaches make regular training trips to Thailand, and a private session lets you drill in a way a group class can't.
What should I wear and bring?
Comfy clothes you can move in and trainers, plus water. You don't need your own kit to start; we can lend you gloves. There are three matted areas at the gym, so there's plenty of space to work.
